Pre-symposium tour to MainStream Aquaculture

The 13th ISPRF 2026 pre-symposium tour will take place mid-morning on 17 May 2026. A limited number of delegates will tour MainStream Aquaculture's Barramundi farm, with over 200 hectares of unique wetlands and pristine ponds in its natural state: https://www.mainstreamaquaculture.com/home/

As part of the tour, you will travel by coach from Cairns to Innisfail. On the drive, you will pass through spectacular mountainous scenery as well as local sugar and banana farming communities. The coach will stop at the Babinda Boulders for a catered picnic lunch (including an authentic Australian savoury pie). The Babinda Boulders is a place of spiritual significance for Aboriginal people and is managed as a flora and fauna reserve. While you're there, you can opt to do the Devil's Pool Walk - a 1.3 kilometre return walk along Babinda Creek, leading you through the rainforest to two viewing platforms where the creek cascades down a series of spectacular waterfalls, granite boulders, and washpools. The cascading streams creates large pools of cool and refreshing mountain water, providing the perfect area for a swim.

As numbers are limited, delegate tickets will be prioritised above guest tickets.
